It is a wonderful two double bedroom apt., with large sitting room, dining room, two bathroom, kitchen, patio apt. in Via Capellari, a most charming and characteristic street, with little arches, craftsmen, and little art shops.

The entrance of the apt., main corridor |
It is a large upscale apartment, at the second
floor off the street level (it would be at the third floor in the USA, we in Europe would
say it's at the second floor). There is no elevator, because it is a historical palace,
but the steps are not steep.
After the door a spacious and rather long corridor brings to the various parts of the
apartment. The unit is 140 square meters large (app. 1,420 square feet), it is utmost
*silent*, and bright.
It includes two double bedrooms, one with twin beds, the second (master bedroom) with a
king size bed. Both bedrooms are large, spacious, and well furnished, with antiques. The
twin bedded room includes a bathroom with shower box. The bathroom of the master bedroom
is adjacent, in the corridor of the apartment. It includes a bathtub with hand-held
shower.
Sitting room seen from its door |
Sitting room opposite view |
The sitting room is very large (9 x 5 meters - app.
9.5 x 5.5 yards.). It has high-vault wooden beam ceilings, and most elegant wooden floors.
It includes a perfectly large working fireplace (a rarity in Rome's centre), giving joy
and warmth to the entire apartment. It is furnished with antiques, and in includes a
(vertical) piano. The large window of this room, together with the windows of the twin
bedded room and of the kitchen, face a very rare old courtyard, including a simple and
characteristic 17th century popular Roman house, with arch and stairs, and a space in
front with plants.
On the other hand the sitting room has two doors, with the form of arches, leading
respectively to the kitchen and to the dining room.

Dining room, seen from the side |
The dining room has a large table to dine, with
chairs for six, and also two large bookshelves covering two walls. There is also a large
sofa.
The dining room also leads to the patio of the unit, which is appr. 20 square meters (200
sq. feet), and which is covered partly by the leaves and flowers of a bouganville (a sort
of ivy). The patio faces the palace of the Venerable English College, the most ancient
English institution abroad (13th century).
The kitchen |
The patio overlooking the Venerable English College |
The kitchen is rather large (for ancient Rome's standards), and includes all the normal appliances, cupboard and utensils. As mentioned, it faces, through a charming balcony, the above mentioned courtyard. On the other side, it has a door to the dining room (which as mentioned can be entered also from the sitting room).
The master bedroom |
Master bathroom |
The master bedroom is simple, yet elegant. It has a little balcony also facing the Venerable English College. It includes a king size bed, bedside tables, a chest of drawers a wardrobe, and fine carpets. The immaculate master bathroom of the apartment is very near this room. It was recently renovated, and it is panelled with a rare variant of Roman travertine marble.
| The twin
bedded room is also elegant, and includes the two beds, a chest of drawers, a
wardrobe, a wooden desk, fine lamps and paintings. It also includes a bathroom,
with shower box (we will soon publish its photo).

The apt. includes also a storage room, which is at the end of the small balcony of the master bedroom, and which includes the washing machine.
The equipment includes colour TV with satellite dish to watch CNN and the major international programs, heat, air conditioning, normal telephone with internet connectivity, washing machine, iron with iron board.
